Counseling can be a place where you enhance and grow in your faith! Clinical Christian counseling is a process by which you come to the table exactly how you are. You are not told what you should be or supposed to be thinking or feeling. It is a place where you show up and fully as you are with professional who is able to fully accept the things you normally hide from yourself, God, and others. Through this acceptance, you are able to take the time you need to ask yourself honest questions, be present with uncomfortable contradictions, and invite Jesus to speak with compassion and truth.

The Role of Faith in Counseling
Faith is important in all of our experiences of healing. As Christians, spiritual life in Christ is a key aspect of our identity. Counseling is work within the soul that dynamically explores and renovates experiences, relationships, meaning, and woundings. The soul is the human psyche including emotions, the brain, and the body working together to function. Many times, we develop maladaptive functions in order to cope with the painful complexity of life here on earth. Our spirit is informed by, fueled by, and connected to the Holy Spirit of God. Our spirit life can also feed, fuel, help, heal, and bring hope to our soul. Don't we all wish that with a snap of our fingers and the strength of our own willful faith we could just make all of our struggles, problems, sins, doubts, and duality disappear. Unfortunately, most of the time faith and the human soul do not work this way. There is an aspect of soul work that includes stewardship, skillful mending, learning, abiding, surrender, growth, and so much more. Faith becomes a conduit to true human transformation as spirit informs the soul. Allow a skilled clinical Christian counselor help you skillfully use your faith to become more connected and truly grounded in your relationship with Jesus.
